A nameless hero - the story behind the Pantheon demos.

It began during the reign of the goddess Juno. A republic ravaged by a gruelling war, ruled by incompetent rulers and advised by an ignorant clergy, spawns a hero, that set out to change the world. Sick of the road he was travelling, he tried to persuade people of his causes, tried to start a revolt to end the war and sweep away the old order. But all he found were people who had turned deaf to their own needs, who had been turned numb by the system's propaganda. Between many other self-styled revolutionaries, his voice remained unheard and he soon had to withdraw to start from scratch.

In old parchments, called the 'Tales from the Dawn of Time', he found legends of the Valley of the Gods. A mysterious place in the mountains behind the ocean, where the gods had returned to, when they saw, that their experiment of making mankind something else than apes in cars, had failed. Our nameless hero set out, alone on a dangerous journey across the Sea of Oblivion. His ship stranded, but after taking a look around, he recognised the harsh mountain range he was facing. He had found the island of the gods! Through temperatures below the freezing point, the nameless hero made his ascent and finally reached the Valley, where he was greeted with great cheer and appreciation, by the gods who were quite fond of the fact, that they had not been forgotten by the human race and that one of their number had actually survived the dangerous trip. They allowed him to stay in the Valley as long as he wanted.

But soon the nameless hero remembered why he'd come. He asked the gods for a few swigs from the Fountain of Creation and started the long journey home. Since the liquid from the fountain couldn't be transported in anything else than a living vessel, he had been forced to drink it and while he was on his journey, the magical powers of the gods' holy fountain proved to be much too powerful for a human mind. He was going insane!

Back in his village, he tried to use the magical powers of the fountain, but from his mouth came only babble. When his big night on national TV turned into a series of hate tirades against the media and the government, he was arrested and put into the St.Apollo Loony Bin.

When the tide of the war changed, the nameless hero's village soon became a frontier town and a raid hit St.Apollo soon thereafter. Finally being able to escape, our nameless hero disappeared into the night and went home into his village, just to find it deserted and destroyed. Heart-struck, he abandoned the ways of the revolutionary and decided to go back to the Valley of the Gods. On his way there, he had to admit, that his heart couldn't brook just giving up and he devised a new plan. He would return....someday.
