Hello Summer is a pop rock/pop punk all-female band based in Paris suburbs.
Influenced by the pop punk and californian punk rock wave, born in the 1990s and the 2000s in the United States, Hello Summer members all gather around common inspirations, such as Blink-182, Green Day, Mest, New Found Glory, and also Hey Monday, Paramore or We Are the In Crowd.
Hello Summer was formed in autumn 2011 when Maggy and Margaux (guitars) decided to start from scratch from all of their previous musical stuff. They wanted to continue playing music together and began holding auditions for a new band around their Paris-suburbian location. It was Severine (vocals/bass) who found them in early 2012 after a local ad. At that time, they already had instrumental demos and lyrics. Severine soon sent them two demos that stuff and they immediately got hooked. They soon held a rehearsal and from then on, officially became the singer/bassist of the band. In February they contacted Zoé after an ad she’d posted, soon held a rehearsal and welcomed her as the drummer of the band. Later on, previous guitarist of the band Jenny, came back as a bassist to complete the line-up.
By the end of February, the band had already defined their sound, their visual and lyrical universe, worked on a dozen original songs and also on all necessary stuff around the band, like official website, Facebook, YouTube and Myspace pages, merchandising, and plans for future.
The band released a first track in april 2012 and is currently working on a first EP, to be released in summer 2012. Stay tuned!
