MY CAUSE: Amnesty International

June 2011 Update
May brought many ups-and-downs (which is pretty much routine), so here is what to expect from June:

I lost the TRON: Legacy Remix competition at Indaba Music, and I learned that I need to change my promotional campaign for my music drastically. I’m working toward making my own video content to aid in my efforts to promote myself better, along with having live chats on my website and a vlog on my YouTube channel. Stay tuned for more on these projects!

I’ve posted my first promo video on YouTube! Look for my username (“miah1980”) to check out the “Feel Good Promo”! Links to the single are also provided!

It’s official: “Feel Good? (feat. Victory)” is now live on iTunes and Amazon! Look for my new single at both online stores, and a heartfelt thanks goes out to Victory for another awesome collaboration together!

There is a delay in the release of “Full Spectrum” since I have no financing to invest toward its release. I’m looking at September 20th as a release date, and if I can’t find the financing I need within the next month, I’ll release it sooner exclusively through my official store and Bandcamp. Stay tuned for more on this story.

Another new collaboration is in the works with I.N.G., a rapper I met through Numubu! I’ve sent him an updated demo of one of my old tracks, and I’m working on an original track for him as well. Stay tuned for more on this project!

Submissions are still open for anyone who wants to contribute to the “J. Whitman Presents” mix tape! I’ll be starting this project during the summer, so feel free to send me your songs directly via email!

The reboot of my old material is progressing slowly, however, “The Human Condition” is complete and available to download for free at jwhitman.bandcamp.com!

On the tech side of work, I’ve got a green screen shoot coming up on the 25th for “The Curse of the Phantom Shadow”, a short demo reel by Mark Ross. I’ll be assisting Mark as a sound grip and I’ll be assisting with the ADR process once we complete filming for the day!

Twisted Brains Studios is quickly ramping up the process of acquiring financing in order to begin production! No word yet as to what I’ll be doing for the company, but the owner/producer is pleased with the crew that I’ve selected for him! Stay tuned for more on this development!
